Salome-Meca installer

Please note that this installer is not supported by our team at the moment. You could expect some issues such as difficulties when saving.

This short post is about a new packaging for Salome Meca for Windows installer, kindly provided by Kim Ravn-Jensen (thanks Kim!) working at Simxon. Please contact Kim if you should experience any problem (or simply to say thanks if everything goes well 😉 )

You can get the executable file from this link:

After downloading, you only have to run it to get to the first screen:

Then you can skip through the information screen…

… all the way to the installation path choice (you can use the default or change it as you wish)

The installation should then start and a progress bar will show you where you are (this might take a little since Salome-Meca is quite a big product):

As soon as the installation completes, you should get a new item in your Windows applications:

In the installation folder, in case you want to check it, you should expect this content:

Of course, you can also uninstall it (it might leave an empty folder behind that you can delete yourself):

One might encounter some unexpected message if the Visual Studio Runtimes are not yet installed (you may fix this by installing the runtimes before running again the installer, please read “I got a side by side error or a missing dll error, what can I do?” in our FAQ page)

In case you are still having unexpected issues, the best thing to do is probably try to contact Kim at Simxon.

ciao Luca,
dopo l’installazione di SM2018 inizio seguendo l’esempio “beginning with AsterStudy”, ma al momento di attivare il modulo AsterStudy e selezionando il pulsante “new” il sistema dice che il modulo non è presente.

Se invece apro “Geometry” riesco a vedere i modelli di esempio.

Devo per caso scaricare code_aster? Mi sembrava di aver letto che nella suite SM2018 fosse tutto compreso.

Ti faccio presente che ho installato Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64).

Tra poco provero a reinstallare…

  il modulo è incluso, se non parte c’è qualche problema nell’installazione (vedi voce “AsterStudy module does not start “Failed to activate module AsterStudy”” in https://code-aster-windows.com/faq/). Se hai problemi prova per cortesia con l’installazione dall’archivio “zip” e non con quella eseguibile “exe” : abbiamo incontrato problemi di recente. Come suggerisce la nota, controlla per prima cosa di evitare i caratteri speciali (come per esempio ^ $ [ * + ? | ) é ä) nel percorso dello studio e nel nome del computer o dell’utente. Anche gli spazi sono da evitare.

I cannot run Salome-Meca 2018 on windows 10. How can I resolve this problem? It runs only 49% then it has a message as below:

I’ve checked the latest version for Windows and it works really great. Is it planned to publish the next version in the future? It seems a lot of people outside do not know Salome is available also for Windows.

Greetings,
I have MS WIndows 10 Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042.
I am trying to install Salome-Meca 2019 windows version. I am getting a warning from the Windows Defender Firewall. The message is

“Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of salome_session_server.exe on all public and private network. ”

Also I have AVAST virus software. Its warning message is
“We’ve blocked SALOME_Session_Server.exe because it was infected with IDP.Generic”

What should I do to finish installation of SalomeMeca? I would appreciate any help in this regard.
