  2. Hi,
I love open source programs, therefore thank you for your work. I am very eager to use code_aster and Salome-Meca, I followed the tutorial, installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64), extracted files. However when I run run_salome.bat, the Salome-Meca started to load when it gets to 100 % I got an error:
    C++ container is not found.

I just can not come around that, please help.

thank you a lot. Just when I was writing a response, saying that I have check all the FAQ; no special signs ect., I remembered that while there were none in path I had one in computer name. I changed computer name, and magic happened, Salome is running =)

        Thank you again.

  3. Hello I have installed salome meca 2018 64bit on my PC (that runs windows 8.1) as indicated in the instructions above, but I have the following problems:
1)First of all, I’m not able to save a project. When I try to save a project there is a warning that I quote here: “Can’t save file “blabla” possible reasons:
    -permission denied
    -Unsufficient disk space
-application error try to use another file name
2)Second, when I try to launch the program often SALOME MECA freeze/lock itself when I chose “Geometry” in the menu” and so I have to close the programs.
3)Third, I’m not able to import iges files of bidimensional lines (straight and curved lines). A warning says that there is an error without specify what this error is. I don’t understand. This iges file in Ansys works properly.
I have the same problems with salome meca 2017 64bit

Can anyone help me?, I’m a civil engineer not a programmer. Thank you very much.

  7. Hello, I have an error message when I run salome_meca, it is not the same as the previously posted ones:
Warning, no type found for resource “localhost”, using default value “single_machine”
Searching /Kernel/Session in Naming Service +++++++ found in 3.5 seconds
Start SALOME, elapsed time : 0.0 seconds
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin “windows”
    in “”.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
It seems that there is an issue in the path to find the proper DLLs (if I understood it right from other forums). How could I solve this ?
    Thanks for your advice,

    Best

    1. Hello Yoram,
You can ignore “Warning, no type found for resource “localhost”, using default value “single_machine”” and “This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin “windows” in “”.”
If salome doesn’t start, there is undoubtedly an other issue
